Fibre Optic Network Installation & Testing

Fibre Optic Cabling Installation UK | OTDR Testing

High-density fibre patch panel with organised magenta fibre strands
Fusion splicing and fibre termination work in a live comms environment

AYT Infrastructure designs and installs fibre optic backbones and high-density interconnects across the UK — from campus and FTTx backhaul links to data centre cross-connects, fully spliced, tested and trace-documented.

What we install

  • OS2 single-mode — long-distance, telecom backhaul and inter-building links
  • OM3, OM4 and OM5 multi-mode — rack-to-rack and 100G/400G-ready routes
  • MTP/MPO pre-terminated assemblies for data centre builds
  • Fusion splicing (Fujikura and Sumitomo equipment)
  • OTDR testing and certification (Tier 1 and Tier 2)
  • LC, SC and MPO/MTP termination
  • Armoured external fibre
  • Fibre patch panel and enclosure installation

With specialist partners

  • Fibre blowing (microduct) on complex or long-run routes where specialist plant is required

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you provide OTDR trace reports?

Yes. All fibre links are tested and we provide OTDR traces and insertion-loss results as standard, included in the handover documentation pack.

Can you splice both single-mode and multi-mode fibre?

We carry out fusion splicing across OS2 single-mode and OM3/OM4/OM5 multi-mode, including LC, SC and MPO/MTP terminations.

Do you install external and armoured fibre?

Yes — we install armoured external fibre and blown-fibre (microduct) systems for inter-building backbones as well as internal data centre interconnects.
